Office Internet Usage Policy
1. Purpose
This policy defines the rules for accessing and using the office internet network. The purpose is to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient use of internet resources strictly for business-related activities, while providing limited access for personal devices through the guest network.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, interns, consultants, and visitors who access the company’s internet network.
3. Internet Access
Hein+Fricke (Office Network)
To be used only on company-provided laptops and devices.
Strictly for official work-related purposes.
Unauthorized or personal use is prohibited.
H+F_Guest (Guest Network)
• To be used for personal mobile devices and visitors.
• Provides limited bandwidth and restricted access.
• Must not be used for illegal, inappropriate, or bandwidth-heavy activities (e.g., torrenting, gaming, streaming).
4. Employee Responsibilities
Employees must:
- Use the internet responsibly and strictly for business requirements on the official network.
- Ensure personal devices connect only to the H+F_Guest network.
- Avoid downloading or accessing any content that may harm the company’s IT systems.
- Report suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts to the IT team immediately.
5. Prohibited Use
The following activities are strictly prohibited on both networks:
• Accessing or distributing offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content.
• Unauthorized file sharing, torrenting, or peer-to-peer applications.
• Bypassing network security controls, proxies, or firewalls.
• Using the company network for personal commercial/business activities.
6. Security & Monitoring
• All traffic on the Hein+Fricke network is monitored and logged by the IT department.
• The company may restrict or block websites/applications that impact productivity or security.
• Policy violations may result in disciplinary action, including restricted access or HR involvement.
7. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to meet business and security requirements.
8. Acknowledgement
All employees must confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Office Internet Policy by signing the Internet Policy Acknowledgement Form.
